Gionathan

Versatile and eclectic songwriter, producer and videomaker, Gionathan is musically formed between Italy, Spain and the United States.
He collects a long series of collaborations and immediately treads important stages both with his own songs and as a vocalist, until being chosen as a backing vocalist for X-Factor in two different editions. A supporting artist for the Italian dates of international groups such as Hillsong and Planetshakers, while still very young he was awarded by Mango for his live performances.
In 2014, he came out with Come Sabbia, an innovative and popular urban album made four hands with DJ MistaB featuring exponents of the Italian HipHop scene, such as Maxi B, ATPC and others. The album immediately placed at position No. 2 on the iTunes RnB chart, while the 4 extracted singles all reached the top of the indie charts on Italian radio stations, allowing the two to win several contests, to be included in numerous compilations and to play on the stages of important festivals.
In 2015 the project Gionathan & the Groovers was born, very prolific on the live level, with which the singer will record the album DiVersione Acustica (2016), presented with a sold-out concert at Teatro S.Anna in Turin. Two singles will be extracted that will exceed both 1500 radio rotations. In 2017 the band is a finalist at TourMusicFest, ranks third at SanRemo Rock Festival (out of 1300 projects) and is chosen by Red Ronnie as FIAT Music band to open the Turin concert of TheKolors.
In April 2018, Niente di strano, the new single, was released on VEVO and immediately entered the AirPlay charts. In the summer of the same year, a 15-date tour takes him to play live throughout Italy, from north to south, at the conclusion of which he signs for the Swiss label profimusic.
In 2019, the singles and video clips Caduta Libera, Friendzone, A tempo su di noi and Stanotte are released, all of which receive excellent reception on streaming platforms.
In January 2020, Gionathan is one of 10 artists invited to RadioMusicFest, a Radio and TV event, while in February he gives a concert for the TV program VeNew274. Both events are broadcast throughout Europe. From May to August 2020 is the turn of the original project Corro e Basta, a single released in 5 completely different versions on a tri-weekly basis.
The artist’s next 3 releases, however, are in English: I feel the groove gritty nu-disco hit, Mary did you know, urban version of the native classic, and Good premonition, sinuous neo-soul ballad.
During 2021 Gionathan releases the summer anti-tormentone Dimmi di no, which is followed by a full-band tour of central and southern Italy. In the fall, he releases the single Luna Park in collaboration with Karen Marra (The Voice of Italy).
In February 2022, selected among the 24 finalists of the first Sanremo Christian Music Festival, he wins the Best Composition and Alberto Testa Awards with the song Tu mi hai amato per primo.
On April 8, 2022, Anima Libera, Gionathan’s debut solo album, was released, receiving excellent reviews from industry insiders.
This is followed in the same year by the summer hit Paprika and the single Free/Libero as a duet with Dutch artist BlackRockStar, a song that will take the duo on a long tour of clubs, festivals, and penal institutions in Italy and Switzerland.
In 2023, both the Anima Libera Tour and the Free/Libero Tour continue, with dozens of dates throughout the peninsula; at the same time the funk song Brand New Shoes and I see you move in a duet with producer FreakMe are released.
June sees the release of the summer hit Mojito (and its video), a song much played by radio stations, in a duet with the queen of Italo-disco Neja, who, for the first time ever in her career, sings in Italian. The song and its video receive an incredible reception at broadcasters, paving the way for the subsequent Va bene così, Al mio posto and Cartagine, which, during the fall and winter, repeat the radio success of the summer single that preceded them.
In May 2024 Gionathan becomes the protagonist of a comic strip spy story: the one contained in the video clip of MORE STRONG single in collaboration with Whitepumpkin. This is followed by the release of Ho sempre odiato gli anni 80, a tribute song to an iconic decade, in which he involves Johnson Righeira; the song and video clip gain the attention of major Italian media such as TG1, RAI, ANSA, LaStampa, Repubblica, etc.
In the months that followed, Gionathan released the single Hail, produced the second and third edition of the Prisons Tour (series of concerts in Italian prisons together with BlackRockStar) and a benefit concert for cystic fibrosis, accompanied by a 12-piece big band as well as a series of guests (including Johnson Righeira, Davide Shorty, Mastafive), thanks to which a medical machine was purchased for the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.
Gionathan is also artistic director, as well as creator (and in some cases host), of numerous music festivals and radio and television formats dedicated to live music.

Nel 2015 nasce il progetto Gionathan & the Groovers, molto prolifico sul piano live, con il quale il cantante inciderà l’album DiVersione Acustica (2016), presentato con un concerto sold-out al Teatro S.Anna di Torino. Verranno estratti due singoli che supereranno entrambe le 1500 rotazioni radiofoniche. Nel 2019 vengono pubblicati i singoli e i videoclip Caduta Libera, Friendzone, A tempo su di noi e Stanotte che ricevono tutti un ottima accoglienza sulle piattaforme di streaming.
A gennaio 2020 Gionathan è uno dei 10 artisti invitati al RadioMusicFest, evento Radio e TV, mentre a febbraio tiene un concerto per il programma televisivo VeNew274. Entrambe gli eventi vengono trasmessi in tutta Europa. Da maggio ad agosto 2020 è la volta dell’originale progetto Corro e Basta, singolo uscito in 5 versioni completamente diverse a cadenza trisettimanale.
Le successive 3 uscite dell’artista sono invece in lingua inglese: I feel the groove grintosa hit nu-disco, Mary did you know, versione urban del classico natilizio e Good premonition, sinuosa ballad neo-soul.
Durante 2021 Gionathan rilascia l’anti-tormentone estivo Dimmi di no, al quale fa seguito un tour in full band nel centro e sud Italia. In autunno esce il singolo Luna Park in collaborazione con Karen Marra (The Voice of Italy).
A febbraio 2022, selezionato tra i 24 finalisti del primo Sanremo Christian Music Festival, vince i Premi Miglior Composizione e Alberto Testa, con la canzone Tu mi hai amato per primo.
L’8 aprile 2022 esce Anima Libera, l’album di debutto solista di Gionathan, che riceve ottime critiche dagli addetti ai lavori.
Seguono, nello stesso anno la hit estiva Paprika e il singolo Free/Libero in duetto con l’artista olandese BlackRockStar, canzone che porterà il duo in un lungo tour nei club, festival e negli istituti penitenziari di Italia e Svizzera.
Nel 2023 continuano sia l’Anima Libera Tour che il Free/Libero Tour, con decine di date in tutta la penisola; contemporanemente vengono pubblicati il brano funk Brand New Shoes e I see you move in coppia con il producer FreakMe.
A giugno esce la hit estiva Mojito (e il relativo video), brano molto suonato dalle radio, in duetto con la regina della italo-disco Neja, che per la prima volta in assoluto nella sua carriera, canta in italiano. La canzone e il relativo video ricevono un’accoglienza incredibile presso le emittenti, aprendo la strada ai successivi Va bene così, Al mio posto e Cartagine che, durante l’autunno e l’inverno, bissano il successo radiofonico del singolo estivo che li ha preceduti.
A maggio 2024 Gionathan diventa protagonista di una spy story a fumetti: quella contenuta nel videoclip di PIÙ FORTE singolo in collaborazione con Whitepumpkin. Segue l’uscita di Ho sempre odiato gli anni 80, canzone omaggio ad un decennio iconico, nella quale coinvolge Johnson Righeira; il pezzo ed il videoclip guadagnano l’attenzione dei maggiori media italiani quali TG1, RAI, ANSA, LaStampa, Repubblica, etc…
Nei mesi che seguono Gionathan esce con il singolo Grandine, realizza la seconda e la terza edizione del Prisons Tour (serie di concerti nelle carceri italiane insieme a BlackRockStar) e un concerto benefico per la fibrosi cistica, accompagnato da una big band di 12 elementi nonchè da una serie di ospiti (tra cui Johnson Righeira, Davide Shorty, Mastafive), grazie al quale viene acquistato un macchinario medico per l’Ospedale Regina Margherita di Torino.
Gionathan è anche direttore artistico, nonché ideatore (e in alcuni casi conduttore), di numerosi festival musicali e di format radio-televisivi dedicati alla live music.

Gionathan ist ein vielseitiger und eklektischer Songwriter, Produzent und Videomacher, der seine musikalische Ausbildung in Italien, Spanien und den Vereinigten Staaten absolvierte.
Er kann auf eine lange Reihe von Kollaborationen zurückblicken und war von Anfang an auf wichtigen Bühnen präsent, sowohl mit seinen eigenen Songs als auch als Sänger, bis er in zwei verschiedenen Ausgaben von X-Factor als Backgroundsänger ausgewählt wurde. Als Vorgruppe bei den italienischen Auftritten von internationalen Gruppen wie Hillsong und Planetshakers wurde er bereits in jungen Jahren von Mango für seine Live-Auftritte ausgezeichnet.
2014 veröffentlichte er Come Sabbia, ein innovatives und beliebtes Urban-Album, das er zusammen mit DJ MistaB produzierte und an dem Vertreter der italienischen HipHop-Szene wie Maxi B, ATPC und andere mitwirkten. Das Album erreichte auf Anhieb Platz 2 der iTunes RnB-Charts, während die vier ausgekoppelten Singles alle die Spitze der Indie-Charts italienischer Radiosender erreichten, was den beiden ermöglichte, mehrere Wettbewerbe zu gewinnen, in zahlreiche Compilations aufgenommen zu werden und auf den Bühnen wichtiger Festivals zu spielen.
2015 wurde das Projekt Gionathan & the Groovers ins Leben gerufen, mit dem der Sänger das Album DiVersione Acustica (2016) aufnimmt, das mit einem ausverkauften Konzert im Theater S.Anna in Turin vorgestellt wurde. 2019 werden die Singles und Videoclips Caduta Libera, Friendzone, A tempo su di noi und Stanotte veröffentlicht, die alle auf Streaming-Plattformen gut ankommen.
Im Januar 2020 ist Gionathan einer von 10 Künstlern, die zum RadioMusicFest, einem Radio- und TV-Event, eingeladen werden, während er im Februar ein Konzert für die TV-Show VeNew274 gibt. Beide Veranstaltungen werden in ganz Europa ausgestrahlt. Von Mai bis August 2020 ist das originelle Projekt Corro e Basta an der Reihe, eine Single, die im Drei-Wochen-Rhythmus in fünf völlig unterschiedlichen Versionen veröffentlicht wird.
Die nächsten drei Veröffentlichungen des Künstlers sind auf Englisch: I feel the groove, ein düsterer Nu-Disco-Hit, Mary did you know, eine urbane Version des Native-Klassikers, und Good premonition, eine geschmeidige Neo-Soul-Ballade.

Im Februar 2022 wurde er unter die 24 Finalisten des ersten Sanremo Christian Music Festival gewählt und gewann mit dem Lied Tu mi hai amato per primo den Preis für die beste Komposition und den Alberto Testa Award.
Am 8. April 2022 erscheint Anima Libera, Gionathans erstes Soloalbum, das von Brancheninsidern begeistert aufgenommen wird.
Noch im selben Jahr folgen der Sommerhit Paprika und die Single Free/Libero im Duett mit dem niederländischen Künstler BlackRockStar, ein Song, der das Duo auf eine lange Tournee durch Clubs, Festivals und Justizvollzugsanstalten in Italien und der Schweiz führen wird.
Im Jahr 2023 werden sowohl die Anima Libera Tour als auch die Free/Libero Tour mit Dutzenden von Terminen auf der ganzen Halbinsel fortgesetzt; gleichzeitig werden der Funksong Brand New Shoes und I see you move im Duett mit dem Produzenten FreakMe veröffentlicht.
Im Juni erscheint der Sommerhit Mojito (und das dazugehörige Video), ein im Radio viel gespielter Song, im Duett mit der Königin der Italo-Disco Neja, die zum ersten Mal in ihrer Karriere auf Italienisch singt. Der Song und sein Video kommen bei den Radiosendern hervorragend an und ebnen den Weg für die folgenden Va bene così, Al mio posto und Cartagine, die im Herbst und Winter den Radioerfolg der vorangegangenen Sommer-Single wiederholen.
Im Mai 2024 wird Gionathan zum Protagonisten einer Comic-Spionagegeschichte: die im Videoclip der Single PIÙ FORTE in Zusammenarbeit mit Whitepumpkin enthaltene. Es folgt die Veröffentlichung von Ho sempre odiato gli anni 80, ein Hommage-Song an ein ikonisches Jahrzehnt, in dem er Johnson Righeira mit einbezieht; der Song und der Videoclip erregen die Aufmerksamkeit der wichtigsten italienischen Medien wie TG1, RAI, ANSA, LaStampa, Repubblica, usw..
In den folgenden Monaten veröffentlichte Gionathan die Single Grandine, trat bei der zweiten und dritten Auflage der Prisons Tour auf (eine Konzertreihe in italienischen Gefängnissen zusammen mit BlackRockStar) und gab ein Benefizkonzert für Mukoviszidose, begleitet von einer 12-köpfigen Big Band und einer Reihe von Gästen (u.a. Johnson Righeira, Davide Shorty, Mastafive), dank derer eine medizinische Maschine für das Krankenhaus Regina Margherita in Turin angeschafft wurde.
Gionathan ist außerdem künstlerischer Leiter und Organisator (und in einigen Fällen auch Gastgeber) zahlreicher Musikfestivals und Radio- und Fernsehformate, die der Live-Musik gewidmet sind.
